I spent a week workshopping my new musical WILDFIRE SEASON at Edinburgh Festival Theatre thanks to funding from Capital Theatres (part of their Open To Ideas scheme supporting new work). The week was an absolute joy from start to finish. Actors Anna Russell-Martin and Jami Reid-Quarrell threw themselves into the roles as we explored choreography styles with movement director Emily Jane Boyle, ably assisted by Music Supervisor Sam Macdonald.

After the gutting disappointment of Coraline it feels so wonderful to get stuck into a new project, particularly one so personal. The week before I spent thirty hours at wildfires around Skye with the Dunvegan crew, the show feels very timely and I’ve completely fallen in love with the two characters.
