Throughout Scotland’s Year Of Stories 2022 I organised a series of events in community halls around Skye & Lochalsh in collaboration with Skye & Lochalsh Archive Centre. The aim was to get people talking about their lives and memories as part of the wider Culture Collective project funded by Creative Scotland and overseen by local events charity SEALL, a covid recovery initiative for artists and communities.
The conversations led to songs being written and recorded with local musicians in those same halls, with events and video shoots to promote them, again taking place in community spaces.
The resulting album is available here (as well as through the usual streaming/download sites). Money raised from sales goes to Alzheimer Scotland.
